Offshore parks are usually located about 40 km off the coast. The location of the turbines opens up a wide range of possibilities in design: The parks can be built larger in general, as on the one hand more powerful turbines with higher hub heights and larger rotor diameters can be used and on the other hand, the number of turbines can be substantially increased. Higher capacities can thus be achieved across parks, which potentially allow a higher energy yield.
